Baltic Dry Index rebounds, driven by recovery in Capesize segment

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index recovered by 13 points d-o-d to 1,958 on 4 Nov’25. The index gained as stronger iron ore demand from key exporters boosted Capesize earnings, while smaller vessel segments weakened further amid sluggish coal and grain trade activity.

  • Capesize: The BCI increased by 59 points to 2,947.
  • Panamax: The BPI decreased by 13 points to 1,788.
  • Supramax: The BSI was down 9 points to 1,311.
