Baltic index hits 2-week low as freights weaken across segments

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index dropped by 15 points on 27 Oct’25 to 1,976 against 24 Oct. The index slipped to a two-week low, as easing congestion and muted cargo demand weighed on Capesize and smaller vessel rates.

  • Capesize: The BCI decreased by 33 points to 2,838.
  • Panamax: The BPI was down by 3 points to 1,921.
  • Supramax: The BSI fell by 8 points to 1,361.
