Australia: Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland rise 10% m-o-m in Sep’25; Dampier sees dip

  • Port Hedland’s iron ore shipments increased by 10% to 48.57 mnt in Sep’25 against 44.32 mnt in Aug, as per the Pilbara Port Authority.
  • However, Port Dampier’s iron ore shipments fell 6% to 13.08 mnt in Sep’25 from 13.85 mnt in Aug.
  • Shipments from Hedland surged on the back of strong Chinese restocking demand, while maintenance at Dampier Port, rail constraints, and mine scheduling adjustments limited overall exports.
