China: Iron ore spot prices rise by $1/dmt d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices edged up d-o-d by $0.6/dmt to $105.1/dmt CFR China on 22 Oct’25. Prices picked up with trades focused on the primary market, as secondary demand softened and liquidity thinned. Rising blend fines costs and slower post-holiday restocking put pressure on buyers. Moreover, steel margins remained tight, and blending ratios were adjusted to cope with lower productivity.
