Pakistan: Ferrous scrap imports rise 21% y-o-y in Jan-Aug’25

Pakistan’s ferrous scrap imports surged by 21% to 2.14 mnt in Jan-Aug’25 from 1.77 mnt in 8MCY’24.

Meanwhile, imports jumped by 72% to 0.31 mnt in Aug’25 from 0.18 mnt in Aug’24 while remaining stable m-o-m. Europe and the UAE continued to be the primary sources of Pakistan’s ferrous scrap imports in Aug’25.
