Japan’s Kanto scrap export tender saw bids rise m-o-m by JPY 2,346/t ($15/t) in Oct’25, with a 20,000-t H2 lot awarded via a trader to a Bangladeshi mill at JPY 44,316/t ($290/t) FAS. This is an increase from Sep tender’s JPY 41,970/t ($275/t). The upward movement was driven by a weaker JPY (from JPY 147/t on 10 Sep’25 to 153/t on 9 Oct’25), which supported higher export offers.
