China: Billet prices ease by $6/t d-o-d as market softens ahead of holidays

In Tangshan, billet fell RMB 40/t ($6/t) to RMB 2,990/t ($425/t), while SHFE Jan’26 rebar gained RMB 53/t ($8/t) to RMB 3,114/t ($443/t).
Ahead of holidays, weak demand after restocking pushes steel to three-week lows, with trade and export activity muted.
Cautious mills are awaiting clearer demand signals. In Oct, price clarity is expected to emerge only after the holidays.
