Russia, the 8th largest iron ore exporter has exported around 1.41 MnT iron ore in Jul’16, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a downfall of 14% M-o-M as it was 1.64 MnT in Jun’16. On the contrary, Russian iron ore export has increased significantly by 48.4% on Y-o-Y basis.
In the first seven months of 2016, the country exported 10.3 MnT iron ore, down by 17.6% as it was 12.5 MnT in the same consecutive period last year.
In Jul’16, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were at 0.39 MnT, while non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 1.02 MnT.
- China, the largest iron ore consumer imports around 42% of Russian iron ore exports. In Jul’16, Chine imports from Russia have witnessed a growth of 3.4% M-o-M which was 0.6 MnT in Jul’16 and 0.58 MnT in Jun’16. The nation imported 0.37 MnT iron ore from Russia in Jul’15.
- Slovakia, the second largest importer of Russian iron ore, imported around 0.34 MnT iron ore in Jul’16 as compared to 0.23 MnT in Jun’16. The nation had imported around 0.15 MnT in Jul’15.
- Poland, the third largest iron ore importer, has been constantly importing around 0.12 MnT iron ore from Russia in Jul’16 and Jun’16. On Y-o-Y basis, imports rose by 50% as it was 0.08 MnT in Jul’15.
- Netherlands, the fourth largest iron ore importer has imported 0.09 MnT iron ore in Jul’16, up by 50% as it was 0.06 MnT in Jun’16. Imports in Jul’15 remained nill.
- The Czech Republic, the fifth largest iron ore importer of Russian iron ore, has imported 0.08 MnT iron ore in Jul’16. Imports were down by 46.6% in Jul’16 as it was 0.15 MnT in Jun’16. The nation imported 0.07 MnT iron ore in Jul’15.
- Turkey, the sixth largest iron ore importer of Russian iron ore has imported 0.06 MnT in Jul’16. The import is significantly down by 60% as it was 0.15 MnT in Jun’16. However, in Jul’15, the country imports from Russia remained nil.
