The entire balance quantity of 7.36 MnT iron ore will be auctioned in the upcoming e-auctions.
Directorate of Mines & Geology (Govt. of Goa) is likely to resume iron ore e-auctions soon. DMG has notified the tentative lots for the 16th e-auction onwards. A balance of around 7.36 MnT iron ore is still left with the Goan government to be sold.
Goan government has notified,331 tentative lots will be auctioned from 16th e-auction onwards. Out of 7.36 MnT iron ore offers, 5.35 MnT is ROM, 1.43 MnT is fines, 0.49 MnT is lump and remaining 0.09 MnT is fines/lump.
Iron ore mining in Goa came to a halt owing to monsoons. Following this, Goa DMG had stopped transportation of ore by roads during monsoon season, to ensure public safety.
Previous e-auction (15th e-auction) was held on 27 Apr’16, in which only 0.55 MnT ore was sold out of 2.11 MnT iron ore.
Goan government has conducted 15 e-auctions, through which 8.78 MnT iron ore has been sold so far, since e-auctions conducted in Feb’14.
