China: Steel billet prices hold steady for 2nd consecutive day

  • Billet prices in Tangshan, China, held steady d-o-d for the second consecutive day at RMB 2,960/t ($415/t), while SHFE Jan’26 rebar inched up by RMB 11/t ($2/t) to RMB 3,117/t ($437/t).
  • Steel output rose, lifting inventories to a 3-month high. Rebar demand stayed weak; flats saw better buying interest. Iron ore was at $105/t.
  • Markets await Fed resolutions for clearer direction in Sep’25.
