According to customs data of South Korea, country’s flat steel exports under HS code 7208 (hot rolled products), 7209 (cold rolled products), and 7225 (electrical sheets) have registered an increase of 8.8% M-o-M basis in Jul’16.The same is recorded at 1.36 MnT in Jul’16 and was at 1.25 MnT in Jun’16.
However, if Y-o-Y comparison is done country’s flat steel exports have registered a fall 12.02% in Jul’16 against corresponding month of previous year. The flat steel exports of South Korea in Jul’15 was recorded at 1.55 MnT
In first seven months of 2016 from Jan-Jul, South Korea’s flat steel exports are recorded at 9.66 MNT which was at 9.26 MnT in Jan-Jul period of 2015.
In current year, the country’s flat products exports are majorly directed towards China followed by Japan and US.Out of the total exports of 9.26 MnT, exports to India are recorded at 0.96 MnT.
