Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap purchase prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t) w-o-w

Tokyo Steel has announced scrap purchase price revision for the second time this month, effective 22 Aug’25.
In this latest round, the company reduced prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t) at its Okayama, Takamatsu and Utsunomiya plant, while rates at other plants remained unchanged. Post-revision, H2 scrap prices are as follows:
Okayama, Utsunomiya: JPY 39,500/t ($267/t)
Takamatsu: JPY 37,500/t ($254/t)
