Ministry of Mines, government of India will be conducting second meeting on Post Auction Mining Clearances and Approvals Facilitator (PAMCAF).
The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Secretary (Mines) on 08 Sept’16 at New Delhi.
The agenda of the meeting is to review the current status of seven mineral blocks which have been successfully auctioned till date and facilitate the concerned states to expedite various clearances/approvals required for getting mines to reach the operationalized stage.
Current status of iron ore mines auctioned till date
So far only one iron ore block has been successfully auctioned. Department of Mines, Odisha had auctioned “Ghoraburhani – Sagasahi” iron ore block located in Sundergarh district of Odisha. Essar Steel emerged as the preferred bidder for the block.
Essar Steel is optimistic to start the operations at its iron ore block very soon and is expecting to make it operational in FY18. The block has total geological iron ore reserves of 99.59 MnT.
