After the imposition of trade barriers such as anti-dumping and safeguard duty on HRC, CRC and Plates, prices of flat products remain stable this week in the domestic market.
Domestic manufacturers are focusing more on export of flat products due to realization of good sales from export market.
Current offers for 2.5 mm HRC (IS2062) are assessed at INR 34,500-35,000/MT ex-Mumbai and INR 35,000/MT ex-Delhi.
While, offers for 0.9 mm CRC are heard at INR 40,000/MT ex-Mumbai and INR 39,500-40,000/MT ex-Delhi. Prices include excise of 12.5%.
As domestic demand is still sluggish due to rainy season, further price rise is only possible in the 1st week of September. Demand will probably improve in the next month when rain intensity will reduce. Thus, prices may also move up subsequently.
