Anthracite Coal Import Offers Remain Stable in Sluggish Indian Market

Lackluster environment continues to prevail in the Indian Anthracite coal market.

Import offers have remained unchanged from that assessed last week. The latest import offers were assessed at USD 97/MT CFR India.

Demand for the coal variant has gone down to the lowest as buyers preferred cheaper alternate fuels, like Petcoke and other forms of coal, which are available abundantly.

Imports
Meagre imports have been recorded due to the sluggish market in the country. During the 1-16 Aug’16 period, only 80,000 MT was imported into the country, imported by Indian Metal and Alloys Limited.
