Indian Iron Ore Production Increases by 43% in Q1 FY17

Iron ore production of India increased from 33.7 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 48.24 MnT in Q1 FY17.

As per the figures released from Ministry of Mines (Govt. of India), Indian iron ore production has shown a significant increase of 43% Y-o-Y in Q1 FY17. Country’s iron ore production increased from 33.7 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 48.24 MnT in Q1 FY17.

On monthly premises (i.e. compared to May’16) India’s iron ore production fell by 12% to 14.6 MnT in Jun’16.

Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state registered sharp increase of 62% Y-o-Y in iron ore production. Odisha iron ore production which was recorded at 15.25 MnT in Q1 FY16 has increased to 24.76 MnT in Q1 FY17.

NMDC’s iron ore production from Chhattisgarh moved up by 47% Y-o-Y in Q1 FY17. NMDC produced 4.85 MnT iron ore from its Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh in Q1 FY17 against 3.3 MnT in Q1 FY16.

Iron ore production of NMDC from Karnataka increased from 2.63 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 2.78 MnT in Q1 FY17.
