China: Iron ore spot prices inch up d-o-d amid supply disruptions

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices inched up by $0.25/dmt to $99.3/dmt CFR China on 1 Aug’25. Market sentiment was supported by heavy rainfall in Chengde, which disrupted supply and limited availability. Mills showed limited interest, favouring higher-grade ores, while growing lump inventories at ports may cool seaborne demand ahead.
