Coking coal import offers have remained at high rates as strong buying by Chinese steel makers continued.
The latest import offers of the Premium HCC were assessed at USD 117.30/MT CFR India; and that of the HCC 64 Mid Vol at USD 108.05/MT CFR India.
According to the inputs received, Australian suppliers have offered these materials at USD 108.50/MT FoB and USD 99.25/MT FoB respectively.
Apparently, the higher import offers will raise prices of Met coke.
In a latest development, Coal India Limited has decided to raise its Coking coal production to 71.77 MnT by FY20 from the current level of 53.8 MnT.
IMPORTS
Imports of Coking coal have continued to land at Indian ports. During the 1-12Aug’16 period, 1.36 MnT of the coal variant was imported into the country, data compiled by SteelMint Research shows.
