Alang’s ship-breaking melting scrap prices dropped for the second consecutive day on 30 Jul’25, by INR 200/t d-o-d. HMS (80:20) was at INR 31,800/t ($364/t) ex-yard, as assessed by BigMint. Weak demand and an INR 200-500/t price correction in semi-finished steel during the previous session dampened scrap buying, forcing suppliers to reduce offers further to boost procurement amid subdued market conditions.
