Iron Ore Sourcing of Standalone Pellet Plants Drops by 44% in Jul’16

Standalone pellet plants’ iron ore sourcing declined from 0.48 MnT in Jun’16 to 0.27 MnT in Jul’16. Thus registering a fall of 44% M-o-M.

BRPL’s iron ore sourcing down by 33% M-o-M – The pellet maker sourced 0.18 MnT iron ore in Jul’16 against 0.27 MnT in Jun’16. The pellet maker was majorly seen sourcing ore from Odisha merchant miners namely – KJS Ahluwalia, KN Ram and MESCO. However, its exports and domestic movement remained stable on monthly premises. BRPL exported 0.16 MnT pellets to China and supplied 3 rakes in domestic market last month.

Arya iron & steel sourced 0.05 MnT iron ore in July – Unlike Jun’16, iron ore sourcing of Arya Iron & Steel fell from 0.07 MnT in Jun’16 to 0.05 MnT in Jul’16. The pellet maker was majorly seen sourcing ore from Odisha merchant miners namely – KN Ram, AMTC and MESCO. Its supply in domestic market remained stable on monthly basis with supply of 14 rakes in Jul’16. No export shipment of the pellet maker was noticed last month.

OMML (Adhunik Metaliks) raised iron ore sourcing – Adhunik Metaliks remained active in supplying pellets in domestic market via roads and sourced 0.02 MnT iron ore in Jul’16. It is seen sourcing iron ore from Odisha merchant miners namely Kaypee Enterprises, Serajuddin Mines and Indrani Patnaik.

MSPL reduced iron ore sourcing sharply by 78% M-o-M – The pellet maker procured 0.02 MnT iron ore in Jul’16 via Karnataka e-auctions against 0.09 MnT iron ore in Jun’16. Sourcing fell owing to maintenance shut down at their plant.
