Nippon Steel has cut stainless steel wire rod prices for Jun-Aug’25 by JPY 15,000/t ($112) for the 300 series, with 400 series unchanged. Special steel grades saw reductions: SUSXM7 (JPY 25,000/t, $187/t), SUS303 (JPY 20,000/t, $150/t), SUS316 (JPY 30,000/t, $225/t), and SUS310S (JPY 40,000/t, $300/t), reflecting alloy surcharge adjustments, changes in nickel, chromium, and exchange rates. Demand remains weak across construction, industrial machinery, and semiconductor sectors.
