Mysteel Global: Some steel producers in Tangshan, China’s top steelmaking hub in North China’s Hebei province, have received verbal notifications from local authorities to cut their sintering operations by halting 30% of their sintering machines for 10 days starting from June 21, Mysteel Global learned from local sources.
In addition, converters or basic oxygen furnaces (BOFs) of local mills are also confined to operate only during 00:00-8:00 a.m., with the restrictions to last until June 30. The operating production capacity of local blast furnaces will be adjusted accordingly during the same period, sources added.
