South Korea’s major steelmakers have lowered scrap purchase prices on subdued demand. Hyundai Steel will reduce prices by KRW 10/kg ($7/t) for all grades at its Incheon and Dangjin plants starting 28 Jun’25. Dongkuk Steel’s Incheon plant implemented a similar KRW 10/kg ($7/t) cut from 24 Jun. Earlier, on 20 Jun, SeAH Changwon Special Steel cut prices for heavy scrap A by KRW 10/kg ($7/t).
