Chile: Codelco, BHP record sharp rise in copper output in Apr’25

Chile’s state-owned miner Codelco boosted its copper production by 21% y-o-y in Apr’25 to 114,600 t, as per Cochilco data. Meanwhile, BHP’s Escondida mine – the world’s largest copper producer – posted a 31% jump y-o-y to 128,400 t. These strong production figures underscore a solid performance by key global suppliers, reflecting resilient demand amid ongoing supply tightness in the international copper market, as per reports.
