Pakistan: Thermal coal imports drop over 25% m-o-m in May’25

In May’25, Pakistan’s thermal coal imports decreased by 25.5% to 0.47 mnt from 0.63 mnt in April. Also, y-o-y, imports decreased by 21.3% against 0.60 mnt in May’24. South Africa remained the leading supplier with 0.32 mnt, up by 1.8% from 0.31 mnt in April, followed by the US with 0.11 mnt. Additionally, Mozambique supplied 0.04 mnt.
