India: Imported Scrap Interest still Low, May Begin in July End

Imported scrap deal to India remain absent as buying and selling price gap continue to remain wide. Shredded offers remain high at USD 230-235/MT, CNF Nhava Sheva. Importers’ interest in Indian market is still low as Turkey buying improved post EID holidays. HMS 1&2 offers in Turkey are assessed at USD 210-215/MT, CFR and shredded scrap at USD 220-225/MT, CFR.

Present shredded offers to India are heard at USD 230-235/MT CNF. But, buyers counter offers at USD 205-215/MT. Limited trade from Dubai also reported by smelters at USD 210-215/MT for July end shipments. Few ports based ready stock offer of HMS mix scrap is heard at USD 200-205/MT for Africa origin.

Few manufacturers and indenters also mentioned that trade may begin in July end for September deliveries.
