- The Kanto Tetsugen ferrous scrap export tender for May concluded with a 15,000 t H2 lot awarded at JPY 42,389/t ($291/t) FAS, down JPY 899/t and $6/t from April. The slight depreciation of the JPY (145.7 vs 145.3) m-o-m had a limited impact on the dollar price.
- A Bangladeshi buyer reportedly secured the winning lot through a Japanese trading firm with the deal translating to an estimated FOB price of around $300/t.
