Standalone pellet plants raised their iron ore sourcing in Jun’16. In May’16 they sourced 0.34 MnT iron ore which increased by 41% M-o-M and stood at 0.48 MnT in Jun’16.
BRPL’s iron ore sourcing up by 42% in Jun’16 – Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL) sourced 0.27 MnT iron ore in Jun’16 compared to 0.19 MnT in May’16. Odisha based pellet maker sources iron ore from Odisha merchant mines primarily from KN Ram, KJS Ahluwalia and MESCO Steel. Earlier this year it had sourced some quantity from AMTC mines but since May’16 its sourcing from AMTC has remained nil. The pellet maker has capacity of 4 MnT pa and is actively participating in pellet export. Pellet export of BRPL increased from 0.05 MnT in May’16 to 0.16 MnT in Jun’16.
Arya iron and steel raised its iron ore sourcing by 17% in Jun’16 – Odisha based pellet manufacturer procured nearly 0.07 MnT iron ore in Jun’16 against 0.06 MnT in May’16. It sourced ore from Odisha merchant mines primarily from KN Ram, MESCO Steel and Kaypee Enterprises. The pellet maker supplied 12 rakes to in domestic sponge manufacturers last month.
MSPL procured 0.09 MnT iron ore via Jun’16 e-auctions – Karnataka based pellet maker sourced 0.09 MnT iron ore in Jun’16 against 0.06 MnT in May’16. It majorly sources iron ore from Vyasankere iron ore mines.
NMDC sourced iron ore for its upcoming pellet plant in Karnataka – In Jun’16 NMDC procured 36,000 MT low grade fines from its Donimalai mines for its upcoming pellet plant.
