Despite supportive demand, wire rod prices fell marginally by INR 100/MT in both Raipur and Durgapur.
Few secondary wire rod manufacturers based in Raipur reported comparatively better demand of wire rod than rebar since last couple of weeks. However, wire rod and HB prices fell marginally by INR 100/MT in a week’s time in both Raipur and Durgapur.
In Durgapur, wire rod and HB are available at INR 23,400/MT and INR 25,100/MT (basic price) respectively.
Similarly, plants in Raipur are offering the same grade material at respective price of INR 25,200/MT and INR 27,200/MT. Prices are basic.
Offers for 12G GI wire and 12G barbed wires are assessed at INR 34,500/MT (0) and INR 37,200/MT (0) in Raipur. Prices are basic.
A well-known wire rod manufacturer based in Raipur said, “Demand of wire rod improved further due to better buying seen in downstream products like GI wires, mainly from local markets, including Raipur and Bhilai.”
He also added that wire rod manufacturers in Raipur were also offering discount of INR 500-700/MT last week, depending on quantity lifting and payment conditions.
