NMDC’s Iron Ore Production Up by 29% in Q1 FY17

NMDC produced 7.6 MnT iron ore in Q1 FY17 compared to 5.9 MnT in Q1 FY16.

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) – India’s largest iron ore producer has registered growth of 29% in its quarterly iron ore production. NMDC’s iron ore production has increased from 5.93 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 7.63 MnT in Q1 FY17.

Production from NMDC (C.G.) up by 47%

Iron ore production from NMDC’s Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh has moved up by 47% Y-o-Y from 3.3 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 4.85 MnT in Q1 FY17.

NMDC’s iron ore production from its mines located in Karnataka has incremented by 6% Y-o-Y. Production from Karnataka stood at 2.63 MnT in Q1 FY16 which has increased to 2.78 MnT in Q1 FY17.

Iron ore sales up by 17% Y-o-Y

NMDC’s iron ore sales in Q1 FY17 was recorded at 7.77 MnT against 6.65 MnT in Q1 FY16.

Iron ore sales from NMDC (C.G.) has moved up from 3.54 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 4.94 MnT in Q1 FY17. However iron ore sales from its Karnataka mines fell from 3.11 MnT in Q1 FY16 to 2.83 MnT in Q1 FY17.
