Week 28 noticed reduction in pellet prices of INR 100/MT W-o-W in Durgapur and Bellary. While prices in Kandla moved up by INR 200/MT, in other major markets prices have remained unmoved. Barbil pellet offers remain unchanged at INR 2,850-3,100/MT (loaded to wagons).
Durgapur pellet offers down by INR 100/MT
Pellet offers in Durgapur have come down by INR 100/MT W-o-W. Currently offers are assesed at INR 3,200/MT (basic).
“Pellet sponge offers in Durgapur have recently increased on weekly basis (up by INR 300/MT). Pellet buying has improved in last couple of days. Pellet offers may restrict further fall provided pellet sponge prices remain strong, quoted a West Bengal based pellet maker”.
Raipur pellet offers stable, buying remains weak
Pellet offers in Raipur are seen hovering in the range of INR 3,850-3,900/MT (basic). However market sources shared that for bulk quantity offers are heard at INR 3,800/MT (basic).
Trade sources shared that marginal increase in semi-finished steel prices has been noticed in last couple of days. Despite this pellet buying is yet to witness a pick-up. There are limited sellers seen for pellet sponge in the market presently as most of them are seen using lump.
Bellary pellet offers move down
Few southern India based pellet makers had raised offers last week amid increase in pellet sponge prices. However, decline in P-DRI prices have again pulled down pellet offers. While other pellet makers continue to maintain their offers at INR 4,200/MT (basic).
Presently, Bellary pellet offers are heard in the range of INR 4,200-4,250/MT (basic).
Trade-wise:
1. Jharsuguda based pellet maker sold around 5,000 MT pellets at INR 3,300/MT (basic)
2. As per sources, a Raipur based pellet manufacturer has sold around 3,000 MT pellets to Durg based sponge maker at INR 3,850/MT (basic)
3. Odisha pellet offers to Raipur are assessed in the range of INR 3,800-3,900/MT (landed, CST extra)
