Bhushan Steel, India’s one of the largest steel manufacturer has planned to expand its hot-strip production capacity from 4 MnT to 5 MnT at its Dhenkal plant in Odisha. Thus a shut-down of 20 days is planned at the unit in the month of July.
Company’s Odisha plant is a diversified unit which manufactures billet, HRC, plates, and sponge iron.
In the light of increased debt of Bhushan Steel, the company has been asked by its lender bank to ramp-up its production. However, the expansion of company’s hot-strip production capacity will lead to increased supply of HRC in the domestic market which will further pressurize the already stressed domestic HRC prices.
