- Prices increase in Raipur but fall in Mandi
- Raw material prices show mixed trends
ERW patra pipe (41-60 OD) prices showed mixed trends w-o-w in Raipur and Mandi Gobindgarh. Raipur prices rose by INR 100/tonne (t) w-o-w, but fell by INR 100/t w-o-w in Mandi.
In Raipur, prices stood at around INR 45,200/t exw on 25 April 2025, up by INR 100/t from INR 45,100/t on 18 April. Trade volumes of around 2,300 t were recorded this week.
In Mandi, prices fell by INR 100/t, w-o-w on Friday to INR 46,000/t compared to INR 46,100/t last week. Trade volumes of around 1,600 t were recorded this week.
Listed prices are ex-works (exw), excluding 18% GST.
On a d-o-d basis, prices fell by INR 300/t in Raipur. Moreover, prices declined by INR 500/t in Mandi.
Overall, demand was weak in a sluggish market.

Market updates
Raw materials prices show mixed trends: HR strip (patra) prices inched up by INR 100/t w-o-w to INR 44,900/t exw-Raipur as on 25 April compared to INR 44,800/t exw-Raipur on 18 April. Likewise, patra prices in Mandi declined by INR 100/t w-o-w to INR 45,000/t exw compared to INR 45,100/t exw a week ago.
Steel billet prices in Raipur went down by INR 200/t w-o-w to INR 40,800/t exw on 25 April, compared to INR 41,000/t on 18 April. Also, billet prices in Mandi recorded a decline of INR 300/t w-o-w to 43,000/t DAP on 25 April, compared to INR 43,000/t last week.
Outlook
In the near term, the ERW patra pipe market is expected to remain under pressure unless there is a meaningful recovery in demand. Moreover, safeguard duties may stabilise the industry but temporarily slow down trade. Without aligning production to demand, price volatility may continue, prompting a cautious, wait-and-see stance from market participants.
