Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products, invited a tender for appointment of a conversion agent from bonafide, resourceful firm/company for conversion of semi finished into rebar in and around Durgapur, West Bengal.
The tender will be kept valid for 90 days from the date of techno-commercial opening.
Successful bidder will be appointed as the conversion agent (CA) initially for a period of 4 years, extendable by 1 years solely at the discretion of SAIL subject to satisfactory performance.
The finished product after conversion should be 8-25 mm TMT bar from 100 to 125 mm IS2830 billet.
Eligibility criteria
1. Bidder should have a valid Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) license for manufacture of TMT in IS:1786 Fe 500-D, Fe-500-S and Fe-600 grades of TMT bars.
2. The minimum average annual turnover of the bidder should be 1 crore and the net worth should be positive.
3. The supply of TMT and structure should be in straight length with minimum 90% of production being in 12 meters and 5% in length of 10-12 meters.
