China: Iron ore prices edge down by $1/t d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices decreased by $0.8/t d-o-d to $99.3/t CFR China on 22 Apr’25. Prices fell, as steel sector profitability concerns led mills to scale back seaborne purchases amid high costs and weak demand. Portside prices in China also eased, with low interest in medium-grade fines leading to narrowing spreads between low and high grade tags across key hubs.
