India’s third largest steel manufacturer, Tata Steel’s crude steel output for first quarter (Apr to Jun) of FY17 has been recorded at 2.52 MnT, up by 8% against Q1 FY16.
However, its hot steel production rose by much higher number of 17% at 3.01 MnT in Q1 FY17 against 2.58 MnT in Q1 FY16.
Saleable steel production rose by 5.85 percent to 2.35 MnT during first quarter of current fiscal year as compared with 2.22 MnT in corresponding period of previous fiscal year.
The company has achieved its highest ever automotive steel sales of 379 KT in first quarter of current fiscal against 334 KT in Q1 FY16.
The company’s high-end steel (high tensile cold rolled and galvanized steel) sales are recorded at 76.4 KT in Q1 FY17 against 70.5 KT in same quarter of previous fiscal.
