Indian steel makers proceed to take BIS registrations

In a notice ordered by Indian steel ministry  (http://steel.gov.in/QC-1st%20order.pdf) on implementing BIS standards for steel ingots and billets till 12th of September.This has made steel makers to get the affiliation from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Sources say till now 316 plants have got registered and many more applications have been filed.If BIS standards (Phosphorus and Sulphur less below100) are not maintained then it will be treated as scrap.

Order implies to ingot and Billet and not on sponge and scrap.
