Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices rose $0.95/t d-o-d to $99.90/t CFR China on 17 Apr’25 amid improved steel demand, particularly for rebars and HRCs. Despite macroeconomic concerns and trade tensions with the US, demand growth outpaced supply, especially as rebar production saw a w-o-w decline while consumption surged. This created tighter market conditions, boosting sentiment and lifting seaborne prices.
