Indonesia: Ferrous scrap imports fall 82% m-o-m in Jan’25

  • Indonesia’s ferrous scrap imports fell 82% m-o-m to 30,566 t in Jan’25 from 172,952 t in Dec’24.
  • In Jan’25 imports declined 69% y-o-y from 98,937 t in Jan’24.
  • Hong Kong led the exporter’s list with 11,768 t, accounting for over 35% of the total volume, followed by Australia (10,934 t), Singapore(4,087 t) and Japan (1,896 t).
  • Additionally, ferrous scrap imports by Indonesia rose 7% y-o-y to 1.18 mnt in CY’24 (1.10 mnt).
