China’s Steel Export in May’16

It is quite obvious to say that China being the world’s largest crude steel producer is also among the world’s largest exporter of steel products. During Jan–May’16, China has already exported 46.33 MnT of steel products to the world.

There is an increase of 3.74% in export during Apr-May’16. Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines and Thailand were the top importers of Chinese steel products in May’16.

Asia being the largest importer of Chinese steel products in the month of May with import of 7.53 MnT. Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines and Thailand were the largest importing countries in Asia with respective import of 1.15 MnT, 1.12 MnT, 0.78 MnT and 0.58 MnT.

Africa imported 0.57 MnT of steel products from China in May’16. Ghana, South Africa and Egypt were the top importing countries in Africa and imported 0.08 MnT, 0.06 MnT and 0.06 MnT respectively.

Europe imported 0.49 MnT of steel products from China. Italy, Belgium and Spain were the top importers with 0.15 MnT, 0.15 MnT and 0.07 MnT of imports respectively.

North American countries imported 0.32 MnT of steel products from China in May’16, among which USA, Canada and Panama were the top importing countries with total import of 0.09 MnT, 0.06 MnT and 0.04 MnT respectively.

South America imported 0.28 MnT of steel products from China in May’16. Chile, Peru and Brazil were the top destination of Chinese steel products in South America with import of 0.10 MnT, 0.09 MnT and 0.05 MnT respectively.

Oceania has imported 0.06 MnT, Australia at 0.05 MnT and New Zealand at 0.01 MnT from China.
