Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has announced the start
of commercial production at its plate mill in Angul, Odisha. The mill has an
annual capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum (mtps). The company is targeting
15,000 tonnes output next month and will then increase production gradually.
The plate mill is a part of integrated steel complex being
set up along with a 1.6mtpa steel melting shop, at a combined project cost of
Rs 4,923 crore.
