Coal India Limited (CIL) will start auctioning coal linkages for the cement sector on 28 Jun’16.
CIL has recently concluded auctioning coal linkages for the sponge iron consumers as part of auction to the non-regulated sector.
Coal linkage auctions for the non-regulated sectors also are being actuated by CIL in order to ensure adequate coal availability to sectors, such as cement, sponge iron/steel, aluminum, among others.
Remarkably, the coal linkage auction for the sponge iron sector, concluded on 16 Jun’16, failed to attract mass participation. In that auction, CIL managed to sell only around 50% of the total allocation.
