The Anthracite coal market in India continues to remain lackluster as end-users prefer alternate fuels, which are cheaper.
MARKET TREND
Import affinity among buyers in the country is at the lowest as cheaper alternate fuels, like Petcoke and other forms of coal are available.
Import offers have remained unchanged from that assessed last. According to a reputed importer, import offers from Russia have remained at around USD 94/MT CFR India.

IMPORTS
During the 1-14 Jun’16 period, 57,200 MT of Anthracite coal was imported into India, according to data compiled by SteelMint Research. The importers were: Arya Iron, Jindal Steel and Power Limited and Rashmi Metaliks.
