China: Iron ore spot price inch up d-o-d amid recovering downstream outlook

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices edged up by $0.60/t d-o-d to $101.9/t CFR China on 7 Mar’25 amid improving downstream prospects despite cautious market sentiment. Strong April laycan premiums persist amid low raw-material costs and positive mill margins. However, lingering concerns over export oversupply and weak domestic demand continue to limit full market confidence.
