China: Iron ore spot prices fall by $1/t d-o-d ahead of policy announcements

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices dipped $1/t d-o-d to $105.85/t CFR China on 27 Feb’25 amid cautious sentiment ahead of the Two Sessions scheduled next week. Uncertainty over potential steel production restrictions persisted despite active trading. Reports suggested that even if restrictions are not implemented, iron ore prices may be depressed due to thin steel margins. Clarity is expected once policy developments unfold.
