This fiscal is likely to observe auction of 20 iron ore blocks including some of those which were left unsold in the last round.
A senior government official said- ”State governments have said that they will auction 19-20 iron ore blocks in this fiscal, which also includes mines that could not be auctioned in the 1st phase of auction”.
This will include 14 iron ore blocks from Karnataka, 3 from Odisha and 1 each from Rajasthan, Telangana and Maharastra, he added.
14 “C” category mines to be auctioned shortly
Karnataka DMG is all set to auction 14 “C” category iron ore mines located in the districts of Bellary and Chitradurga. The bid due date for technical as well as initial price offer is 11 Jul’16.
Last fiscal observed only single iron ore mine block auction-
FY16 noticed only single iron ore mine block auction which was from state of Odisha. Odisha’s iron ore block namely Ghoraburhani-Sagasahi was auctioned in which Essar Steel emerged as the preferred bidder.
