Like the previous few chrome ore e-auctions, in the June round of auction also OMC has received weak response due to which the miner has sold the material at base price.
For the e-auction held on 1 June’16, OMC has offered 52,800 MT of chrome ore. Out of this 47,700 MT are friable and rest 5,100 MT are concentrate.
Like the previous (held in April) round of chrome ore e-auction OMC had kept base prices unchanged for some of the grades. While the +54 grade chrome ore base price was at INR 8,982 the base prices of grades like 52-54, 46-48,44-46 had also been kept unchanged at INR 8,649 INR 6127 and INR 5,861 respectively. But the base price of 48-50 grade had been reduced to INR 6,394 from INR 7,235 in April’16. On the other hand, the base price of chrome concentrate had also been kept unchanged.
Except the 48-50 grade almost all the grades have been sold at base price. The 48-50 grade friable chrome ore has been sold at INR 6,994 against the base price of INR 6,394.
