Mongolia’s coking coal exports saw a notable 14% y-o-y increase, to 74.9 mnt in 2024 from 65.8 mnt in 2023. However, exports plunged by 34% m-o-m in Dec’24, to 4.8 mnt from 7.28 mnt in Nov’24. Notably, Mongolia’s coking coal exports were exclusively directed to China in 2024, marking a shift from 2023, when coal was also exported to South Korea and Singapore.
