The state-run Coal India Limited (CIL) produced 42.58 MnT of coal in May’16, surpassing its production in Apr’16 by 5.8%.
The state-run miner, however, missed its production target for the second month of the fiscal, at 44.48 MnT.

During the Apr-May’16 period, CIL produced 82.93 MnT, trailing behind the target of 89.12 MnT for the period by 6%.
