Sponge iron prices in India rose in the range of INR 50-500/tonne (t) across markets.Pellet-based sponge iron (PDRI) prices were assessed at INR 23,800-26,000/t at close of trading today, while iron ore lump-based material (CDRI) stood at INR 25,700-30,400/t.
BigMint’s domestic end-cutting scrap index, tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market, remained unchanged d-o-d at INR 36,800/t DAP on 6 February 2025.
BigMint’s billet index increased by INR 400/tonne (t) to INR 39,000/t exw-Raipur on 6 February, 2025.In the finished steel segment, rebar prices increased by INR 200/t, while wire rod prices rose by INR 200/t. Sponge iron prices edged up by INR 400/t.
